CHALLENGE

Demystify carbon markets to increase adoption by a non-technical audience.

Environmental startup Carbon Yield helps regenerative farmers access new revenue streams and institute healthy, profitable growing systems. The team reached out to Do It Better for a brand identity package and website redesign that would help to present their offerings in layman’s terms, with the goal of increasing adoption and lead generation from their site.

 

 

BRANDING

We kicked off our engagement by facilitating a brand exploration workshop with the Carbon Yield team to better understand their target audience, craft a mission and positioning statement, and identify values to establish the brand.

Do It Better took these findings in-house and presented several creative directions for a new logo design and brand identity. The Carbon Yield team was clear in wanting to visualize the process of soil restoration, lean into elements of the natural landscape, and draw inspiration from the wildness of regenerative agriculture. This direction came to life in the final logo, a custom illustration suite, and brand book detailing instructions for design applications across collateral.

 

 

DESIGN

With a brand system now in place, we worked to redesign the Carbon Yield website, crafting targeted messaging and user journeys for the company’s different audiences. Built on Squarespace, the site design and construction focused on essentials only (no frills), as the team said they wanted to manage it independently post-launch. We worked with them to identify anticipated future needs and created a web design playbook so they could easily execute without UX support. Custom letterhead, email signatures, and a suite of business cards rounded out the brand package.
